Divine relaxation, excellent location

by admin | April 16th, 2010

We stayed for three nights as part of a long weekend attached to a family wedding. The location was ideal – a short walk from the centre of the town, just round the corner from the cathedral and simply 20 minutes on foot from the railway station.

St Anns’ host was helpful, friendly and genuine. The breakfast excellent. Check-in was managed by my father who collected all keys in advance of the remainder of us, the motley crew, arriving. This did help with hours which could other wise prove frustrating for check-in. That said, I think when you choose a B&B over a chain hotel you are choosing the venue in part for its homeliness, part of which is then about accommodating such quirks. The overall excellence balances any possible irritation.

Due to my own, known, clumsiness I repeatedly walked into the edge of an otherwise very comfortable bed. In the grand scheme of things I figure that is not such a bad negative to the whole experience!
